WHY SHOULD I GO TO A CHIROPRACTOR?
It depends on who you ask. For example, if you asked a person who was relived of migraines, he’d say "Anyone with migraines should see a doctor of chiropractic." A child who no longer wets his bed will say "Chiropractic is for bed-wetting." A woman suffering from menstrual cramps will say "Anyone with menstrual problems should go to a Chiropractor."
There are case histories of people recovering from hundreds of maladies under chiropractic care
The goal of the doctor of chiropractic is to awaken your own natural healing ability by correcting the vertebral subluxation complex more commonly know as a "pinched nerve". By correcting the vertebral subluxation complex, your doctor of chiropractic promotes natural healing, vitality, strength, and health.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET BETTER FROM A BACK PAIN EPISODE?
About 80% of people with low back pain improve 80% within 2-4 weeks.
CAN CHIROPRACTIC PREVENT BACK SURGERY?
In the majority of cases, the answer is a resounding yes. 90% of people with sciatica improve with conservative care
A recent study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association revealed that long-term results for patients that had spine surgery for sciatica are not any better that those that had conservative care. The editorial for this study pointed out that the decision to operate depends more in part on the patients preference than medical findings.
CAN I SEE A CHIROPRACTOR EVEN THOUGH I'VE ALREADY HAD BACK SURGERY?
Absolutely. We will review your records and assess your situation and develop a rehabilitation program according to your needs.
WHAT IS THE BEST THING I CAN DO TO KEEP FROM HAVING BACK PAIN?
Stay active, stretch, and eat well.
WILL IT HURT?
Some people experience some short-term discomfort or soreness following their visit, but no pain. We implement several low force and extremely gentle techniques for those apprehensive of the adjustment and the "cracking" noise that typically occurs.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON MY FIRST VISIT?
You will be given some paperwork about personal details and medical history. Then, I will take a full case history regarding your complaints as well as pertinent medical questions.
Next, a physical examination with appropriate orthopedic and neurological exams will follow. At this point, depending on the history and exam information, X-rays or other diagnostic tests may be ordered. Then, an explanation of the findings and diagnosis will be provided along with the prognosis and treatment options.
If the diagnosis is a condition that should be treated by another health care professional, you will be referred immediately.
Your health is what matters and it is my duty to provide the best care possible.
